Proper preparation before your colon hydrotherapy session helps ensure the treatment is as comfortable and effective as possible. The colon is a sensitive organ, and a few simple adjustments to your routine in the 24–48 hours leading up to your appointment can make a significant difference in your experience and results.
Hydration is key. Drink at least 2–3 litres of water per day in the lead-up to your appointment. Proper hydration softens stool and makes the cleansing process gentler. Herbal teas, clear broths, and coconut water are also excellent choices. Avoid caffeinated beverages as they can be dehydrating.
Eat light, easily digestible meals. Focus on foods that pass through your digestive system without strain:
Foods to avoid:
Eat a very light meal 2–3 hours before your session — something like a small bowl of fruit, a banana, or plain khichdi. Avoid arriving on a completely empty stomach, as this can cause light-headedness. Equally, avoid a heavy meal as it interferes with the treatment.
Continue hydrating but stop drinking water about 30 minutes before your session to avoid a full bladder during the treatment.
Bowel movement. If possible, try to have a natural bowel movement before arriving. This is not essential — the therapy itself will assist with elimination — but it can help you feel more comfortable initially.
