When you arrive at the centre, you will be welcomed into a private consultation room. Our practitioner will review your health history form, discuss your current digestive concerns, and explain the procedure in detail. This is your opportunity to ask any questions you may have. The practitioner will also take note of any medications, recent surgeries, or ongoing conditions that may influence the session.
Key points covered during consultation:
You will be guided to a private treatment room with an en-suite bathroom. The practitioner will provide you with a disposable gown and explain how to position yourself comfortably on the treatment table. The room is warm, private, and designed to help you feel at ease. Soft lighting and a calm environment are maintained throughout.
The equipment used is a modern, FDA-registered closed colon hydrotherapy system. All tubing and speculums are single-use, sterile, and disposable — there is no risk of cross-contamination.
The practitioner will gently insert a small, lubricated speculum into the rectum. This is typically no more than a few centimetres. Most clients describe the sensation as mild pressure, not pain. The speculum is connected to two thin tubes — one carries purified, temperature-controlled water into the colon, and the other carries waste out through a closed system directly into the drainage line.
Filtered water at body temperature is slowly introduced into the colon. You will feel a gentle sensation of fullness, similar to the urge to have a bowel movement. The practitioner controls the water flow and pressure, keeping it well within your comfort level. The water helps soften and loosen impacted faecal matter, mucus, and gas that may have accumulated along the colon walls.
When you feel the urge to release, the practitioner opens the outflow valve. Waste material exits through the closed tubing directly into the drainage system — there is no smell or mess. The process is completely hygienic and contained. You may feel a sense of relief and lightness as the colon empties.
This fill-and-release cycle is repeated several times over the course of the session. The practitioner may use gentle abdominal massage to help stimulate peristalsis (the colon's natural wave-like contractions) and guide water around the entire length of the large intestine. Some clients find this massage deeply relaxing.
In the final few minutes, the practitioner may introduce a small amount of probiotic solution or herbal infusion (if appropriate for your case) to help replenish beneficial bacteria. The speculum is then gently removed, and you are given privacy to use the bathroom if you wish to pass any remaining water or gas.
Once you are dressed, the practitioner will check in with you, offer water or herbal tea, and discuss any observations from the session. You may feel lighter, less bloated, and more clear-headed. Some clients report immediate relief from long-standing digestive discomfort. It is recommended to take a few minutes to rest before heading home or back to your day.
At SFU centres, all colon hydrotherapy sessions are conducted under strict hygiene protocols. The closed-system equipment ensures zero exposure to waste material. All disposables are single-use. The water used is triple-filtered and UV-sterilised. Our practitioner is fully trained and certified in colon hydrotherapy and follows internationally recognised safety guidelines.
